First of many firsts, as we see the area grow and expand we can’t help but to see chain after chain come into the area. Dallas attracts everything from In-N-Out to Heart Attack Grill. They bring hype and novelty but they don’t bring the flavor of local foods. We are lost in the middle. With sometimes the only option is the quick is chain-tastelessness. So where does that leave us? We bring to you Justice of the Feast. Where we, Adam and David go to each of these local-independents-entrepreneurs-diamondsintherough restaurants that make North Texas strive for a name. We will review and tell if it warrants you to attend or place to completely avoid. We will evolve and change format from time to time.

Burger Fixins’
As we arrive to this country filled area, we stumbled upon this small town gem. Celina, Texas backs up his name with an amazing burger. As we walk up to this permanent trailer, there is no menu but the sign that is on the wall. Once you are ready (usually prompted to do so), the staff will open the sliding window to order. You complete your order and they gain your name. Your name is called over the intercom, which really does give you that small town feel. There you wait, if you got it go, you wait in your car, if you get it sit this plenty of covered OUTDOOR seating. As our meal arrived as its cooked to order 10 minutes we get ready for true taste of their famous burger.
So we ordered the single cheeseburger all the way with mustard and everything on it to make it a “fair review”. The in-house made patty is seasoned well enough but nothing strong enough to comment about. Layered with just enough mustard, and typical burger “fixins”. (The onions were a bit much but we managed.) The bun is lightly toasted so it’s almost chewy but not crunchy. Which is a very good touch and is one of the first tastes you get when you dive into this burger. The mustard and pickles immediately hit your taste buds as you get a big bite of this burger. We would highly suggest you go with a double for the bigger appetite. Some bacon would also bring this burger home! Overall, its a classic burger with an at home feel. We would give it 8.5 out of 10.
The second best option for a sandwich is the chopped beef sandwich. Bread, chopped beef mixed with barbecue sauce, choice of onions and pickles. We called for extra pickles on this tasty treat. It was not too saucy that the bread gets soaked and falls apart. The sauce brings out the natural taste of the beef and makes an overall great sandwich. The beef has been slow cooked and the sauce seems to be home-made. This is no run of the mill and really brings justice to a chopped beef sandwich. We gave it a 7.5 out of 10.
The rest of the of our meal was quite standard. The fries and tater tots are a worthy combination for either sandwich. If you add cheese and chili to it, it seemed standard and nothing impressive. The one appetizer that caught our eye was the Texas Toothpicks. They are deep fried onion strips and jalapeno strips covered in a season batter. They lacked in spiciness of a Jalapeno and crunch of being deep fried. A thick and creamy ranch was served with it, but felt some sort of homemade sauce would have made it better.
Burger Fixins’ is one those places that you enjoy anytime of the year, even though the seating is only outside. Its only a block from downtown Celina. From Burger Fixins’ go down the street and make a left to find small little snow cone stand on the other side of the tracks for that cool off on a hot day. The verdict for BF is an 8 for country obeisance, tasty food and a hometown go-to!
